We are a collaborative of advocacy efforts that cover issues along the housing continuum with a broad scope of community concern and support. Our work is to amplify & activate the community concerns and voices for housing justice.
Together we have more expertise and capacity to influence than in silos around issues. Together we can have a greater collective presence when it is important to ‘show up’.
One of our key inspirations is Lynn Macaulay. Lynn was a compassionate neighbour, an active member of a faith community and became the Initiatives Co-ordinator for HHUG, the Homelessness & Housing Umbrella Group, a network of people in Waterloo Region working toward ending homelessness as well as creating affordable housing. Lynne became the Executive Director for the All In 2020 campaign and championed ending chronic homelessness in Waterloo Region before she lost her battle with cancer in 2020.
Lynn spent her life serving the most marginalized in society. Her high energy and passion made her a very special community presence and she would frequently be at political events, conferences, and anywhere she could find a public platform to speak about the issue. She was the face, the go-to person for housing and homelessness. With her signature red cape she showed us that we can all be a housing hero.
